Resort Reviews
Duncan and Suzanne Simpson, Chief Executive of The Professional Golfers' Association of New Zealand, provide an excellent review of the Pier 24 Restaurant at St Clair Beach Resort, Dunedin, New Zealand. They praise the cooking of Michael Coughlin, the head chef, who is a platinum ambassador for the New Zealand Beef and Lamb Association. His deserts are also famous, as is his reputation for his exquisite venison dishes.
Apart from their discussions about food and dinning at Pier 24, these two also discuss how Dunedin is on the tourist route to Queenstown and how golfing travellers to this destination can play at Balmacewen, the oldest golf club in the Southern Hemisphere, founded in 1871. Duncan talks about some of the characters who played on The Legends Tournament and tells of the great golfing opportunities around Dunedin, Queenstown and Central Otago.
