I am always on the lookout for new venues for my writing. I tend to have non-traditional views on pairing choices that annoy the heck out of traditionalists but that are a lot of fun. I checked out your mag, check out TheChocolateLife and I will PM you my e-mail address and phone# so we can pursue in earnest.

Virginia Wine on TOP OF THE WORLD

Romancing the grape – Wine, Food and Travel in Virginia is now a TOP spot in the word for wine travel.

Virginia's wine industry received a “Grape” boost when a national publication, Travel and Leisure, named Virginia among the top five up-and-coming worldwide destinations for grape wine-related tourism. They cited Virginia in a list of top wine tourism regions that included parts of Italy, Chile, Spain and New Zealand.

Virginia is places that not only have noteworthy wineries, but are likely vacation spots as well. These Virginia wine regions have a mix of restaurants, lodging and other attractions. These are places that have both terrific local cuisine and wines worthy of seeking out to visit.
Virginia vineyard and wineries are an emerging as wine tourism destinations. Of the state's approximately 160 wineries, at least one third are in the Northern Virginia area with in a hours driveof Washington DC. Virginia is working to pump up its wine country image. A map of the state's wineries was included in its 2009 tourism guide.

Virginia also was named one of the top 12 destinations for wine-related travel by the Travel Industry Association.

Cheers from Veramar Vineyard in Virginia
