I love coffee - but I seem to be weird in that I don't like it strong. I like all other flavors in life strong! Spices, extra sharp cheese, salsas, etc. But not string coffee! Lived in Seattle for 16 years - had to dilute the Starbucks to get it dow…

Thanks for the Welcome, Ms. Tosch.
This is an impressive website and I look forward to exploring all its nooks and crannys.
When I figure out how things work here, I may tell you the story behind my name.

Margie,
Forgot to include that I also do 2 hours of cooking demonstration/sampling, utilizing the "products of the week" from most of the food vendors at the market.
Thanks Margie,
Technically under the city within "Beautification" Committee which comprise of volunteers who run their festivals & fundraising. Committee does 4th of July activities (parade, picnic, fireworks), a Car Classic/Raffle, Art Park or Home/Garden Beautification Awards besides sponsoring the Farmers Market, with subcomittees handing respective events. 4th of July & awards are funded by city, Art Park on donations & my budget is vendor fees. Last year I attended numerous workshops/conferences State of IL & the Univ. of IL. Extension Service put on. They are working on forming a FM association to regulate operations. I decided to eliminate "church" crafts, Avon/cosmetics, jewelry, service businesses like chiropractors & a car dealer. We had a "city" tent that was used occasionally as a "greeter" area where local community groups like garden or women's clubs could use to solicit funds/pass out info. I felt it shouldn't be wasted, called it a community tent & invited other non-profits to use, held booksignings twice/mo. or had for entertainment use every week. Even held a Luau Day with a hula school one week. Now vendors are only food or home & garden related. Pampered Chef, Homemade Gourmet, assorted organic/Amish condiments, bakery goods, nuts, fudge, chocolate-covered fruits, bread, olive oils/vinegars, honey, Middle Eastern foods, cheeses & 3 farms. Last conference I went to focused on use of Social Media & marketing tips for no/low cost advertising. Afraid this will take up more of my time than last yr., so need people on board to help look for vendors, put together radio/tv/newspaper contacts for press releases & solicit extra funds for more entertainment. Thinking of addng a winery (since IL now has 84) to our list & looking for a free-range meat, poultry & egg farm. Maybe to add specialized crafts that are derived from farm products - fibre art from sheep's wool, soy candles, or possibly organic beauty aids. Looking to find market with a paid position.
Margie,
Thanks for the welcome note. It is actually Queen Anne Hill in the back ground, but the picture was taken from the Puget Sound side of the hill. Looking forward to learning my way around here. I've enjoyed your posts on LI. Thanks, Nathan
