I'm attending my monthly wine group tasting and would welcome suggestions on a lessor known white wine. One that isn't found at regular main stream stores and from a smaller producer.

Thanks in advance!

I just read that "the most asked-for whites in Italian wine bars these days are Falanghina and Vermentino ".

Other whites that are very easy to find: Spanish Albarino and Argentinean Torrentes.

Thanks Michele- I'm looking for wine from the Pacific Northwest in particular.
try an estate pinot gris from cristom...
Might I suggest Marisa by Knipprath Cellars in Spokane.. a combination of Albarino and Rousanne grapes!
Sounds interesting. While I like Albarino, not a big fan of Rousanne, at least the ones coming out of California. I'll have to check it out on their website. Thanks!
(Domaine de Mirail) Colombard Gascogne! Wonderful fruit...dry...acidic...bright...and unique! Best of luck!
Ah...just saw the portion about your looking for a wine from the Pacific NW...which means that Colombard would not work as it is from the Gascogne Region in France. Sorry.
I've got to say, the Columbard you mention sounds like something I'd like. Perhaps I'll look for it and pick up a bottle!
That makes me very happy to hear!
Best of luck!

Spiral 236 from Cowhorn Winery in Applegate, Oregon. 09 Pinot Blanc from WillaKenzie Estate in Yamhill, OR. Biggio Hamina's Melon de bourgogne from Mcminnville. Oh, and the Albarino from Abacela in Roseburg, OR is terrific. Cheers!
I checked out Abacela's website. I'm also a fan of tempranillo. Have you had theirs? I sent them a message and think I'll place a small order.
Hi Jim-  Based on your recommendation, I got a few bottles of Abacela's Albarino and loved them!  Turns out a friend spent Thanksgiving with her mom who lives 20 minutes from the winery.  She picked them up for me as well as a few other bottles.  Thanks for turning me onto them
