Join Lindsay of The Wine Smarties as we learn about Sake at San Diego's first Sake class!
Michael Simkin of MJS Sake Selections will be giving us a hands-on full tutorial of the history and culture (he brings samples of the sake process you can actually touch), production methods, qualities, and classification of Sakes. Michael is one of the world's preeminent sake experts and has traveled to Japan 50 times, has worked in three breweries in Japan, visited 40 Japanese and 3 USA based breweries, and has tasted more sakes than you can count. His presentation style is high energy and extremely engaging, and fun to follow. Quoted in several
publications including The New York Daily News, The Los Angeles Business Journal, Urbansake.com, and numerous Japanese newspapers and publications, Michael John Simkin is the perfect ambassador for Japan's 'drink of the
gods. In this class, we will be tasting 8 different sakes under Michael's guidance.
