Singer-songwriter Katy Boyd has drawn rave reviews and strong radio airplay throughout the U.S. and Europe for her latest CD “Paper Hearts,” a collection of poignant stories that are personal in their origins, but universal in their appeal. The Bay Area performer recorded the CD in Nashville and utilized musicians from Ricky Skaggs’ Kentucky Thunder band as well as Delbert McClinton’s band.
Adam Gottstein took his first guitar lesson from Dave Fromer, a member of the preminent San Francisco folk singing family. At age 13 he would take a bus to Sausalito to study with Family Light Music School founder Jan Tangen who infused in him the strumming style he continues to use today. Now a resident of Amador County, Adam is a member of a music trio called Over the Edge.
Uni and her Ukelele began its life in 2004 as an outlet for an already accomplished singer to self publish and perform original work independently. Since then, Uni has released three full albums, numerous e.p.’s, collaborations and a covers album ranging from lo-fi indie pop to melodic strings to rock. Uni’s sound has been described as eclectic, infectious pop and not your usual Ukelele fare. Recipient of the SF Weekly Music Award, Uni has toured all over the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
